About

I understand the hardest part can be making the first call. This May Help.

I am a cis-woman who has experienced great love, great loss, and great therapy! I am a firm believer that part of the human journey is to find other humans to help us get through the hard and complicated parts of this world we live in. I know the process of finding a good therapeutic relationship can be frustrating and confusing. Therefore, I thought I would offer a few words on what to expect when you contact me. First, I ask that we make time to have a 10-15 minute phone conversation. This quick phone call allows you and I the chance to figure out if we think we would be a good team. During the phone conversation you can ask questions and express your needs. When we decide to move forward, your second visit will be a history gathering and goal setting session. From there, you and I will continue to work through your goals and any other pieces of life you feel need attention when we are together. Typically clients meet with me weekly and this is reviewed, along with goals on a monthly basis. Therapy is a commitment not only in time and effort, but also financially. Now that you know what to expect, here is a little bit about my background. I am licensed as a clinical social worker and an addictions counselor in the state of Colorado. I have a masters degree in Social Work and I graduated from the University of Kansas. I have had the opportunity to work with incarcerated youth and adults struggling through the justice system, youth and adults living on the street, and youth in school settings with cognitive/learning disabilities. I have managed programs that work alongside unhoused adults living in shelters, veterans, and adults working through substance use. All these experiences have led me to private practice. In this space, I found it easier to obtain emotional balance while only working with adult clients seeking to be their best selves. Clinically, I work from an eclectic approach. I am a direct communicator, an empathetic listener, and I allow the needs of your journey to help us find the right technique for your healing. Finally, in this virtual space, you will always be the person leading the journey and I see my role as a person supporting you as you work toward achieving your goals. I look forward to our first meeting and being a small part of your human journey.
